back Kanavas Returns to Team-Drift Competition at Mazda Grand Prix of Portland
San Clemente, CA (07.23.08) : Johnny Kanavas will be competing in the Formula Drift Team-Drift competition this weekend at the 2008 Mazda Grand Prix of Portland Presented by Herzog Meier. Celebrating its 25th year, the Mazda Grand Prix of Portland packs in 3 days of open-wheel, production-based, time-attack, and drift competition, along with the Oregon Brewers Beer Festival.
Kanavas will be behind the wheel of one of the Team International Allstars, Mazda MX-5 Drift Cars with teammates Kyle Mohan and Colin Frost. This will be Kanavas' second Formula Drift Team-Drift competition for 2008, having finished in 4th place with the IAS team in April at the Long Beach Grand Prix. Johnny K has been testing with the International Allstars team since 2007, and has been instrumental in the development of the Team Allstar Mazda MX-5's.
Round 2 of the Formula-Drift Team Drift Series happens this weekend, with qualifying to be held on Saturday, July 26th, with the main competition being held Sunday, July 27th during the Portland GP weekend.
